MANUFACTURING

3-D Design & Printing

Students learn to create 3-D designs using CAD software and print them on one of our 3D printers.

We've created:

  • hexapod robots

  • Senior Crowns

  • props for school play

  • replacement parts

  • keychains

  • custom game pieces

  • and much more!

Hexapod Robots

Students worked in production teams to go through the manufacturing process. They 3D printed the hexapod robot parts, then the assembly team put it together, adding the electronics.  Finally, the programming team coded the robots to perform real-world tasks.

Students 3D printed all of the parts for these hexapod robots.  Watch it in action!

Glowforge
Laser Printing

We have 3 Glowforge laser printers which students use to manufacture items to sell to the community.

These lasers cut wood, acrylic, paper, and leather.  They also engrave wood, acrylic, leather, and glass.

Students have used their design abilities to create various device overlays for special needs students with mobility issues to allow them to better use the apps.  The video clip below shows a student in our school district using the overlay with her communication app.  It allows her to touch the exact spot that she is trying to choose.

Amatrol Lab Stations

Students learn the industry skills at hands on Lab Trainer stations for:

  • Pneumatics

  • Measurement Tools

  • Motor Control Systems

  • AC/DC Electrical Systems

  • Applied Mechanisms

  • Applied Electrical Control

  • Mechanical Drive Systems

  • Machine Tools

STEAM Projects

We do STEAM projects to sharpen our 4 C's:

  • Communication

  • Collaboration

  • Critical Thinking

  • Creativity

Students have designed and built Cork Shooters, Tin Foil Boats, Propeller Vehicles, & Parachutes.
